IRELAND AWAKE !
MAIN POLICY : To review and amend where appropriate,all aspects of current legislation concerning : Immigration ~ Nationality ~ Citizenship ~ Residence ~ Entry ~ Asylum requests and Foreign settlement ~ Implementation of opt out clause of 1951 Geneva convention on human rights for Refugees and Asylum seekers This review to be considered the primary issue to be addressed by the Government and that immediate action be taken to implement the conclusions of the intended review
HOUSING : The Government to ensure that adequate housing stock is built up in urban areas by state sponsored rent to buy schemes for low paid workers. Council housing stock to be reserved for net contributors to the State, the elderly and families with young children.
EDUCATION : The Government promises a return to traditional educational values, particularly Vocational skill training, engineering and the sciences. The promotion of Irish culture and a fostering of awareness of the Irish Diaspora's contribution to Civilisation will be vigorously pursued. All physically sound children will be encouraged to take part in suitable team sports, including martial arts and dance. The history and practice of Irish art and literature will be made available to all citizens, including free entry to all cultural establishments owned or operated by the State.
HEALTH : Access to adequate heath care will be guaranteed to all citizens, with no distinction made over financial circumstances. Private health care to be abolished to ensure all resources, human and material, are available to Irish citizens regardless of economic status.
WELFARE : The welfare budget was contributed by Irish citizens in anticipation of it being used to benefit Irish citizens. The new Government will ensure that this obligation is met and that all who seek to drain the resources set aside for the benefit of the unfortunate are severely discouraged.
CRIME : The Government will promote the view that it is the criminal who is responsible for crime and insist that the criminal is properly punished in accordance with the severity of the crimes committed. The government reserves the right to withdraw citizenship and the protection of the state from those criminals deemed anti-social such as paedophiles, rapists, the killers of the elderly , and the killers of children.
TAX AND SOCIAL INSURANCE : NO taxes will be introduced in the Government's term of office unless clearly stated in pre-election manifestos. NO existing taxes or PRSI contributions will be increased unless clearly stated in pre-election manifestos.
EUROPEAN INTEGRATION : No laws, existing or proposed, which are deemed injurious to the Irish State will remain in, or be introduced to, the Statute Books.
INDUSTRY : It shall be the avowed principle of the Government to foster all circumstances and measures designed to promote a vigorous and expanding commercial trade for this State. Recognising that sound State finances and prosperous citizens are the basis of the State's security, the new Government will protect existing ventures and provide the framework necessary to encourage new commercial activity.
